Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared on the podcast 'Melech BeLaytz Chaim' hosted by Avi Harush, during which he called Britain 'the Islamic Republic of Britain.' The remarks were made in the context of his reference to the coverage of the Six-Day War by Randolph Churchill, the son of a former prime minister, and he said, 'Go find that in Britain now, in what is called the Islamic Republic of Britain.' In response to a question about whether all of Europe had become like that, Netanyahu alluded to remarks by US Vice President JD Vance and said: 'Someone said - the first Islamic republic with nuclear weapons would be the Islamic Republic of Britain. We are making sure there won't be another one here, in Iran.' The remarks may cause a stir in London, as the Labour government of Andy Burnham is considered critical of Israel, although Britain maintains deep ties with Israel. Avi Dabush of the 'Democrats' list responded on X, writing: 'You are a prime minister, you have responsibility (there is such a word), and you sit and make jokes about Britain. A Security Council member that is six times bigger than Israel.'
