Netanyahu must be investigated — Golan's statement

On the day of the Democratic Party primaries, its leader Yair Golan gave a major interview to Channel 13, in which he presented his worldview and assessment of what is happening in Israel. He stated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be investigated in the 'Qatargate' affair, and questioned his past decisions, including the 'submarine affair'. Golan criticized Netanyahu's personnel policy, opposing the appointment of General David Zini as head of the Shin Bet and calling the appointment of police commissioner Dani Levi 'borderline'. He accused the government of systemic violations and said the country is in 'existential danger' due to people who led to the events of October 7 and have not drawn conclusions. Golan also spoke about his service, the psychological cost of the war, and admitted that his phrase about 'killing babies as a hobby' was unfortunate. He criticized part of the opposition, including Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot, and stressed that the future coalition should not include parties from the current government.
