Netanyahu attacks Eisenkot: 'He ran away'

Netanyahu also instructed the Shin Bet chief to provide Eisenkot with security, but the agency stated there was no intelligence on threats.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues his election campaign, focusing criticism on Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot. On Tuesday, Netanyahu posted on social media platform X, accusing Eisenkot of 'giving up and running away from the cabinet before the pager operation and before the elimination of Nasrallah.' According to the prime minister, Eisenkot's goal was to 'raise the white flag and push for elections.' Netanyahu emphasized that all this happened before the achievements in the north against Hezbollah and against the ayatollah regime in Iran, and stated that he himself 'did not give up.' Earlier, Netanyahu instructed Shin Bet chief David Zini to provide Eisenkot with security 'at the appropriate level.' The Shin Bet reported that its staff are 'doing their utmost.' Central Elections Committee Chairman Judge Noam Solberg stated that the Shin Bet chief said there was no intelligence on intent to harm Eisenkot. Later, Zini emphasized that the decision not to provide security was made by him personally, and he bears 'exclusive responsibility' for it.
