Nabil Sha'bani was sentenced to 22.5 years in prison for the attempted murder of a 74-year-old woman in Jerusalem. According to the indictment, in December 2024, he felt disgusted with his life due to his financial situation and estrangement from his family, and after watching the news about the situation of residents in Gaza, he decided to carry out a stabbing attack against Jews out of nationalist motives. He planned to carry out the attack by murdering the elderly woman, strangled her, stole her jewelry and money (7,800 shekels) and left. When he returned to take her walking stick, he discovered she was still alive, strangled her again and stabbed her three times in the neck and chest. The woman was seriously injured, evacuated to the hospital and underwent surgery. Sha'bani sold the jewelry at a shop in Ramallah.
