National Insurance payments moved up — what changed in the schedule

The deadline for self-employed contributions is moved from August 15 to 16 due to Shabbat. Child allowances arrive on August 20. Other payments are moved from August 28 to 27. The average benefit has risen by 2.64% to about 5,280 shekels.

In August, Israel's National Insurance Institute (Bituah Leumi) began monthly benefit and grant payments to hundreds of thousands of citizens. The first payments—unemployment and subsistence allowances—will be transferred on August 12. The reporting and payment date for insurance contributions for the self-employed and employers, originally set for August 15, is postponed to August 16, as the 15th falls on Saturday. Child allowances will arrive on August 20. Other payments, including veterans' benefits, survivors' benefits, disability benefits, benefits for disabled children, compensation for special services, mobility allowances, work injury benefits, alimony, rehabilitation benefits, care benefits, and benefits for former prisoners of war and victims of hostile actions, are moved from Friday, August 28, to Thursday, August 27. Since the beginning of 2026, the average payment has increased by 2.64% due to the rise in the consumer price index, and now stands at about 5,280 shekels.
