The Higher Follow-Up Committee of the National and Islamic Forces, during an event in front of the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross west of Gaza City, called for serious and responsible national dialogue and holding comprehensive elections as essential gateways to ending the Palestinian division and establishing full political partnership. Bassam al-Far, a leader in the Arab Liberation Front who delivered a speech on behalf of the forces, described the stage as the most dangerous in the contemporary history of the Palestinian cause, calling for unifying the official Palestinian stance and discourse and forming a higher legal council to manage the legal battle before international courts. He also called on human rights institutions to intensify monitoring of occupation violations. For his part, the head of the Sharia Lawyers' Syndicate, Ayman Abu Aisha, affirmed that ending the division is not a political choice but a popular and urgent national demand, stressing the need to prioritize national interest over partisan interests and maintain civil peace. He saw that elections represent an important gateway to ending the division, provided they are preceded by comprehensive national dialogue.
