"My daughter was murdered because of you": Heated clash between Miri Regev and the father of Shani Louk

A heated confrontation took place today at the Mahane Yehuda market between Transportation Minister Miri Regev and Nissim Louk, the father of the late Shani Louk, who was kidnapped and murdered at the Nova festival. Louk accused Regev and Likud of responsibility for October 7 and the deaths of 3,000 people, and called on them to be ashamed. Regev responded that she is proud to be part of Likud. Likud activists intervened, and one of them called Louk "garbage" and accused him of provocation. In her official response, Regev expressed condolences to the families and promised to work for the establishment of a national commission of inquiry.

At the Mahane Yehuda market in Jerusalem, a heated confrontation developed today (Thursday) between Transportation Minister Miri Regev and Nissim Louk, the father of the late Shani Louk, who was kidnapped and murdered at the Nova music festival on October 7. Louk hurled at Regev: "You caused October 7. Shame on you, Likud," and added: "3,000 murdered because of you. Keep smiling. Shani Louk, my daughter, was murdered because of you." Regev replied: "You don't know how proud we are to be." During the confrontation, activists separated Louk from the minister's campaign trailer. Louk continued, claiming that Likud funded Hamas, and Regev's spokesperson tried to remove him from the scene. One Likud activist attacked Louk, saying: "You are garbage. What does this have to do with her? Don't come to make provocations," and later responded to the accusations: "You funded Hamas, you and Bennett and Lieberman." In an official response from Regev, it was stated that she shares in the families' pain, spoke at length with the father, comforted him, and told him that her own daughter is also a Nova survivor. Regev promised that she is committed to establishing a national commission of inquiry that will investigate everyone, and will continue to work for Israel's security, disarming Hamas, and demilitarizing the Gaza Strip.
