The Haifa Magistrate's Court extended the detention of the main suspect in the murder of Yanis Yusheyev, head of the Caucasian mafia, by seven days. The suspect, arrested two days after the murder following a manhunt by detectives from the Coastal District Central Unit, was found hiding in a warehouse in a residential building in Hadera. Since his arrest, he has maintained his right to silence during the investigation. Meanwhile, the suspect's brother is cooperating with investigators and provided an alibi. The suspect's attorney claims his client denies any connection to the murder and that the police are not confronting him with all the evidence, keeping it for later. The attorney criticized the repeated detention extensions, conducted ex parte, and argued that the defense is struggling to handle the investigation materials. However, he noted that the court's approval of the extensions may indicate evidence justifying the continuation of the investigation. The court also extended the detention of another suspect being investigated on suspicion of involvement and assistance in the murder, in a second detention extension.
