Moshe Shapira, father of Aner Shapira who fell in battle and saved many, will write their ketubah. The couple said this is a closing of a circle that is hard to describe in words, and the wedding feels like a small victory of life.

Almost three years after the Saturday that changed their lives, Eliha Cohen and Ziv Aboud are getting married next week (Wednesday). The two were in the shelter at Re'im on October 7, where Aner Shapira fought heroically and deflected grenades, saving many with his body. Ziv was among the survivors, and Eliha was kidnapped to Gaza and returned after 505 days in captivity. Moshe Shapira, Aner's father, will write their ketubah. The couple said: "For us, this is a closing of a circle that is hard to describe in words... It moves us very much." They added: "We have come a very long way since that day, and the wedding that comes now feels like a small victory of life." The wedding will be for them a moment of closing a circle, memory, and the continuation of life.
