Most of the public believes: funding flights to bring back voters is election bribery

A News 14 poll broadcast today (Wednesday, July 29, 2026) reveals that a majority of the Israeli public believes that funding flights to bring back voters from abroad to Israel constitutes election bribery. 57% of respondents said that a situation where political entities fund flights for Israelis to return from abroad and vote in their favor falls under the definition of a criminal offense. In contrast, 36% claimed they do not see it as an offense, and 7% expressed no opinion. The survey was conducted by NEXT DATA among 539 adults from the general population and was analyzed by Shlomo Filber. The poll addresses a sensitive issue against the backdrop of the elections, since in Israel it is not possible to vote abroad, which may encourage attempts to fund the airlifting of voters to assist a particular political bloc.
