More than a week after the Knesset dissolved: a series of laws approved in a sparsely attended plenum
The Knesset plenum approved a series of laws with a minimal attendance of six to nine MKs, more than a week after the Knesset dissolved. Among the laws: extending the ban on meetings with lawyers for wartime detainees until January 2027, extending detention for security suspects, and exemption from levies for solar installations.
The Knesset plenum today (Tuesday) approved a series of laws in second and third readings, more than a week after the Knesset dissolved. The votes took place with minimal attendance of six to nine MKs, with no opponents. Among the laws approved: extending the validity of emergency regulations preventing security detainees arrested during the war from meeting with lawyers, until January 31, 2027. Nine MKs supported the proposal. Another law extends the validity of regulations allowing the extension of detention for security suspects arrested following the events of October 7 and the war in Gaza, also until January 2027, with the support of six MKs. Additionally, a law was approved granting exemption from paving, drainage, and betterment levies for solar installations used for roofing, until December 31, 2030, as well as a one-year exemption from betterment levy for agrivoltaic installations. The proposals were approved without opposition, with very minimal attendance.
