Israel's National Insurance Institute (Bituah Leumi) has announced the payment of child allowances on August 20. The amount depends on the child's place in the family: for the first child, 173 shekels are paid; for the second, third, and fourth — 219 shekels each; for the fifth and subsequent — 173 shekels again. The payment is provided regardless of family income. The recipient can be a parent who is a resident of Israel, a guardian with an official document, and in certain cases — a non-resident who has worked in the country for at least six months. Children who arrived without parents can receive the allowance independently. Additionally, the institute transfers 58 shekels monthly per child under the 'Savings for Every Child' program, and parents can add another 58 shekels from the allowance, increasing savings to 116 shekels. In most cases, the payment occurs automatically on the 20th of each month.
