Minister Gamliel Promises: 'There Will Be Voluntary Migration from Gaza'

Regarding the Likud court's decision to bar sitting Knesset members from running in districts, she said that in the past ministers could not run in districts, and that whoever is elected as a minister must receive the trust of all party members. She called for accepting the ruling and moving forward to primaries. Gamliel clarified that she had not intended to run in districts, and that she is strong and veteran enough in the movement. She dismissed claims of resentment, saying there is a desire to refresh the ranks, and that David Bitan, Dudi Amsalem, and Kahlon came from initial district contests. In her view, the mix of newcomers and veterans will help Netanyahu win. She called the decision 'a victory for democracy' and said it was decided by a few votes. Regarding the uproar over the dismissal of Major General Avi Bluth, she said she had not seen the program, and that it is a 'storm in a teacup' about a desire to create headlines, and that command changes should be made in agreement between the minister and the Chief of Staff. On Gaza, she said 70% of the territory is demilitarized, and that the IDF eliminates daily those whose hands touched October 7. She reiterated her plan for voluntary migration, citing a poll conducted a month ago in which over 5,000 Gazans were asked, of whom 4,000 want to leave. She promised, 'We will yet stroll in the streets of Tehran,' and assessed that unrest in Iran is expected to renew due to high inflation and unemployment of over 50%.
