Minister Ben Gvir to i24NEWS: 'If we reach 15 seats in elections, we will encourage emigration from Gaza'
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said in an interview with i24NEWS that if his faction reaches 15 seats in the next elections, it will promote encouraging emigration from Gaza. He spoke about daily pressure on the Prime Minister on the issue, the policy change in security prisons, a decrease in crime, and cooperation with the Shin Bet.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir was interviewed today (Wednesday) on "Speaking News with Eliraz Shada" on i24NEWS and stated that if his faction reaches 15 seats in the next elections, it will enable the implementation of a policy encouraging emigration from Gaza. He said he exerts daily pressure on the Prime Minister on the matter: "Ben Gvir bangs on the table every morning to Bibi Netanyahu and tells him, let's encourage emigration from Gaza." Ben Gvir also demanded a more senior role, saying: "I also demand... another role, a more senior role, although I must tell you that this ministry remains with us." In the interview, he addressed the policy change in security prisons, attacked his predecessors, and said: "Before me there were generals, various experts. They disdained me, mocked me, called me the pita minister. The pita is the symbol. Whoever slits the throat of a baby girl and you give him a warm pita, that's the story." He added that today "they have nothing, the minimum of the minimum," and noted that even minors in Ofek prison complained about the harshening of conditions. On crime, he noted a decrease in the level of attacks and car thefts, and spoke of a breakthrough in cooperation with the Shin Bet: "In the end, I had to bang my head against the wall, and in the end, in recent months, together with Mai Golan, I managed to achieve that the Shin Bet would also join the operation."
