In a large-scale police raid in the Tira area, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and additional units, over 1.8 million shekels in cash and foreign currency were seized, including about 19,000 dollars, thousands of euros, and Jordanian dinars. During the operation, led by the Central District Attorney's Office, a pirate factory for producing, storing, and marketing carbonated drinks was uncovered, operating without a license under sanitary conditions that could endanger the public. Additionally, a substance suspected to be hashish and three forklifts were seized for confiscation purposes. Three illegal residents from the West Bank were located on site, and according to suspicion, they were employed and had their wages withheld under aggravating circumstances. At the end of the investigation, indictments were filed against the business owner for employing them and withholding wages, and against the three residents. The Central District Commander, Commissioner Amir Cohen, signed an administrative closure order for the factory for 30 days. Serious safety violations and bookkeeping deficiencies were also revealed, and work stoppage orders were issued for two businesses. The police stated that they will continue to operate in cooperation with enforcement agencies to harm the economic infrastructures of criminal elements.
