A 38-year-old resident of Migdal HaEmek will be charged with the murder of Obanech Dinko, who was killed in a car explosion in the heart of a residential neighborhood in Afula. The incident occurred on May 26, 2026, at around 08:40. The victim was evacuated in critical condition to HaEmek Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Numerous police forces were dispatched to the scene, and the Northern District Commander, Superintendent Meir Eliyahu, decided to transfer the case to the Central Unit (YMR) of the Emekim Region. Within hours, YMR investigators arrested the suspect and seized a stolen vehicle fitted with license plates stolen from an identical car. The investigation revealed that the suspect began preparatory actions about 8 hours before the explosion, in the Tivon area. This morning (July 27), the Northern District Prosecutor's Office will file an indictment against him at the Nazareth-Nof HaGalil District Court. The district commander praised the YMR's work and said that rapid solving of murder cases is a top priority.
