Memorial for Majdal Shams Children Inaugurated at Site of Fall

In Majdal Shams, a memorial was inaugurated for the 12 children killed by a Hezbollah rocket two years ago, on July 27, 2024. Designed by architect Zvika Pasternak, the memorial is located at the impact site and features a rusted metal crater representing the blast hole, surviving wall fragments, and 12 concrete tiles bearing the children's names and ages.

A memorial ceremony was held Monday evening (July 27, 2026) in Majdal Shams for the 12 victims of the rocket fired from Lebanon two years earlier, on July 27, 2024. The memorial, designed by architect Zvika Pasternak, was inaugurated during the ceremony. Located at the impact site, it is based on the blast crater, preserved and accentuated by a rusted metal concave dish 1.65 meters in diameter. Around the crater, 12 concrete tiles are inscribed with the children's names and ages in Hebrew, Arabic, and English. Surviving wall fragments from the impact were incorporated into the installation at the request of one child's father. The park also includes a soccer field and an amphitheater. Architect Pasternak worked in collaboration with the families and the local community.
