Former minister and Knesset member, reserve colonel Matan Kahane, sharply criticized the government on 103FM amid events on the northern border and the deaths of two reservists. According to Kahane, the soldiers' deaths from an explosive device in the security zone in Lebanon and the wait for Israel's response to Hezbollah's actions raise serious questions for the political leadership. He said this is 'a direct continuation of the government's lack of policy,' which led to 'a linkage of arenas between Iran and Lebanon.' Kahane stressed that under Netanyahu, Israel has lost its freedom of action in Lebanon and now depends on what the Americans say: 'Unfortunately, Trump is managing us.' He rejected claims of a forced situation, saying the government told a story of an imminent 'total victory,' which prevented developing a strategy to end the war. Kahane added that with a different strategy and a normal government, the IDF's achievements could have been used for political agreements. He called for a harsh response, citing the Dahiya doctrine, and warned of a return to the concept of 'endless rounds of mutual deterrence' and the 'October 7 concept.' Concluding, he said that 'for four years, a plane has been flying here with the worst crew in the history of the State of Israel,' and the country is heading 'nose down on the path to disaster.'
