Massive construction planned for Ra’anana Metro station

The plan proposes demolishing existing buildings and rebuilding much larger structures, increasing housing units by 160% from 3,177 to nearly 8,400 apartments in buildings of 8-16 floors. The area will also gain 45,000 square meters of office space and 40,000 square meters of commercial space. The population is expected to grow from about 5,100 to about 20,000. The National Planning Commission is handling the plan and held roundtable discussions last month to address issues. The plan is expected to be approved by the end of next year. Real estate professionals warn of complexity due to many rights holders, including apartment owners, shops, offices, and parking lots. The Ahuza Street station is one of 100 plans being promoted around the Metro, which includes three lines, 145 km, and 109 stations across 24 municipalities, with a target opening of 2037.
