Mardawi calls for supporting Qusra residents against settler attacks

Hamas leader Mahmoud Mardawi called on the residents of Qusra and surrounding areas to stand united against settler attacks, stressing that protecting the residents is a national responsibility. He emphasized that the steadfastness of the population is the strongest response to attempts at displacement, and called for strengthening protection and support committees and unifying the official, factional, and popular stance.

Hamas leader Mahmoud Mardawi on Wednesday called on the Palestinian people in the town of Qusra, southeast of Nablus, and the surrounding villages and towns to stand united alongside families facing a siege and settler attacks. Mardawi stressed the need to strengthen the field presence around the town, affirming that protecting and supporting the residents is a national responsibility incumbent upon all Palestinians. He said that what is happening in Qusra represents a new attempt to impose forced displacement, intimidate residents, and push them to leave their land, stressing that the steadfastness of the residents and their clinging to their homes and land constitute the strongest response to these schemes. He affirmed that the occupation and its settlers will not succeed in implementing their settlement plans, no matter how much they resort to brutality and aggression, praising the steadfastness of the people of Qusra and the West Bank in the face of ongoing settler attacks. He called for strengthening the role of protection and support committees to help protect residents and enhance their ability to remain and be steadfast on their land. Mardawi pointed out that the unity of the official, factional, and popular stance, and solidarity among villages and towns, form a barrier against settlement and displacement plans, calling for concerted efforts and continued national and popular mobilization until settler terrorism stops.
