Ra'am party chairman Mansour Abbas was interviewed this morning (Sunday) on 103FM and addressed public criticism over the addition of former police commander Yoav Segalovitz to his faction. Abbas warned of a campaign of "false accusations and conspiracy" against Segalovitz, saying: "Soon you'll hear that Yoav Segalovitz is a traitor and a fifth column. That's the political culture that exists in Israel." He clarified that Segalovitz would not join the Ra'am party itself but would be a member of the faction, defining the connection as "unconditional partnership meant to give hope." Abbas also defended his remarks yesterday on a Palestinian state, claiming that most of the Israeli public holds this position. He accused elements in the Knesset of racism toward him and toward Arab society, saying: "There is a racist stance here that disqualifies 20% of the country's citizens."
