A 50-year-old resident of Kadima-Tzoran was killed this evening (Sunday) in a hit-and-run accident on Highway 4, near Pardesiya Junction, while riding an electric scooter. MDA medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene pronounced him dead, with severe multi-system injuries. Shortly after the report was received, traffic investigators from the Sharon District opened an investigation into the circumstances of the accident, suspecting it was a hit-and-run. Later, a suspect, a resident of Kadima-Tzoran in his 30s, surrendered to police officers from the Sdot station in the Sharon District, along with evidence linking him to the accident. He will be brought tomorrow morning to a hearing on extending his remand in court. Traffic investigators are examining forensic, technological, and documentary evidence at the scene. MDA paramedic Oriyan Locketz Kinen and MDA medic Avi Moyal said they saw the pedestrian lying on the side of the road unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing, with very severe injuries, and after medical examinations they had to pronounce his death.
