Majority of citizens believe election integrity is in danger, Israeli Voice Index reveals - poll

Supporters of all main political blocs agree, with percentages varying from 66% on the Right to 90.5% on the Left. The poll also shows majority opposition to including Ra'am in the next government, low support for three controversial laws, and pessimism about a Syrian peace treaty.

The July 2026 Israeli Voice Index, released on Thursday, reveals that a majority of Israelis believe the integrity of the upcoming elections is in danger. According to the poll, 72% of Jewish Israelis and 58.5% of Arab Israelis expressed some or complete certainty that there is a danger. Supporters of all main political blocs agreed, with 66% on the Right, 76% on the Center, and 90.5% on the Left. The survey also found that 61% of Israelis and 60% of Arabs oppose including the Ra'am party, led by Mansour Abbas, in the next government. Public support was low for three controversial laws passed during the Knesset's legislative blitz: the law to stop the arrest of deserters (67% oppose), gender segregation in higher education, and the attorney general law. On the West Bank, 80% of Jewish respondents believe a Palestinian uprising is likely, while only 40% of Arabs agree. Regarding settler violence, 46% of Jews and 54% of Arabs think it is handled too leniently. The index also showed pessimism about a Syrian peace treaty, with 65% of Jews and 48% of Arabs saying it is unlikely, though 68% of Jews see such a treaty as important. On Iran, the largest group (37%) favors responding only if directly attacked. The poll was conducted by the Israel Democracy Institute between July 28 and August 2, 2026, with 600 Hebrew and 151 Arabic interviews, and a margin of error of ±3.58%.
