He was martyred on August 26, 2024, along with three of his colleagues while at a security point in the southern Strip, leaving behind six children. His eldest daughter, Arwa (17 years old), recounts the details of her father's commitment to his duty, as he would only see them every week or two, and would call them to check on them. On the night of his martyrdom, he visited them for a few hours and then returned to work. In the morning, he called to check on them, then the call was suddenly cut off, and they later learned he was martyred. The family also lost her uncle Ahmed, who was executed by Israeli forces in their home in the Shujaiya neighborhood in December 2023, and her uncle Muhammad, leaving sixteen orphans living in displacement tents west of Gaza.
