Lior Hayat to be appointed Israel's ambassador to Italy

The Israeli government approved the appointment of Lior Hayat as ambassador to Italy, as well as non-resident ambassador to Malta and San Marino. Hayat, currently the Deputy Director General of the Foreign Ministry for North America, previously served as the ministry's spokesman and Consul General in Miami.

The Israeli government approved the proposal of Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar to appoint Lior Hayat as Israel's ambassador to Italy. Hayat will also serve as non-resident ambassador to Malta and San Marino. He currently holds the position of Deputy Director General of the Foreign Ministry for North America. Previously, Hayat served as the ministry's spokesman, Israel's Consul General in Miami, and director of the Central America and Caribbean department. The appointment reflects personnel changes in the Israeli diplomatic corps.
