Likud to State Comptroller: Suspicion that JNF provides illegal donation to Yashar party
Likud filed an urgent complaint with the State Comptroller, claiming that JNF Chairman Ayal Ostrynsky uses his Facebook account, which serves as an official platform for the corporation's activities, to promote the 'Yashar' party led by Gadi Eisenkot, exploiting corporate resources for election propaganda. Likud's legal adviser, Ilan Bombach, argues this constitutes a prohibited corporate donation under the Party Financing Law and requests an urgent investigation.
Likud filed an urgent complaint this morning (Thursday) with the Unit for Oversight of Party Financing at the State Comptroller's Office, through the movement's legal adviser, Attorney Ilan Bombach. The claim: Chairman of the Jewish National Fund (JNF), Ayal Ostrynsky, uses his personal Facebook account, which in practice serves as an official platform for reporting on JNF activities, to directly promote the 'Yashar' party led by Gadi Eisenkot. According to the appeal, Ostrynsky links JNF achievements to political support for Eisenkot, exploiting the corporation's resources for free election propaganda. Examples: a visit to Kibbutz Nir Oz and propaganda gatherings, including a post stating: 'Just as we entered JNF to treat Nir Oz... only a change government led by Gadi Eisenkot will know how to be there for this community.' Bombach argues this amounts to a 'contribution in kind' prohibited under Section 8(a) of the Party Financing Law, which forbids a faction from accepting a donation from a corporation. Likud requests an urgent investigation and publication of findings.
