Likud in unusual appeal to prosecution: "Finish the deliberation on Dr. Yolanda Yabor"

Likud has made an unusual demand to the Haifa District Attorney's Office to reach a decision in the case of protest activist Dr. Yolanda Yabor, who was questioned on suspicion of incitement against the Prime Minister. In a letter from attorney Ilan Bombach, it is argued that nine months have passed since the investigation ended without a decision, and that the delay exceeds the realm of reasonableness and raises concerns of selective enforcement.

The Likud movement has made an unusual demand to the Haifa District Attorney's Office to reach a final and reasoned decision in the case of protest activist Dr. Yolanda Yabor, who was investigated following harsh publications against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In a letter sent by attorney Ilan Bombach on behalf of Likud, it is argued that about nine months have passed since the police investigation ended, but no indictment has been filed or final decision made in the case. Likud justifies the appeal by the party's direct interest and the broad public interest in a proper law enforcement process. The letter defines Yabor as a "protest activist from the extreme left camp," and attributes to her publications including calls for a "real rebellion" and "to fight the traitor... by all means," as well as sharing a video of the burning of a foreign prime minister's residence with the caption "only this way." Yabor was arrested and released to house arrest. Likud claims that despite a prosecutor's statement in December 2025 of intent to file an indictment, the case remains unresolved. Bombach argues that the prolongation of the proceedings exceeds the realm of reasonableness and raises concerns of selective enforcement due to Yabor's political identity. Likud demands an end to the delay and a decision in her case.
