The Likud party submitted its response to the High Court of Justice today (Wednesday) regarding MK Sharan Haskel's petition, in which she claimed that during the vote for the State Comptroller, she was required to photograph her vote and show it to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In Likud's response, it stated: 'We have already denied Sharan Haskel's claim that she received an order to photograph the vote for the Prime Minister. In any case, she did not specify who gave her the order.' Haskel, who resigned from the government following the law freezing arrests of deserters, is waging a legal battle to split from the National Right faction in order to preserve her rights and increase her power in negotiations ahead of the elections. In her affidavit, she claimed that the faction had changed its identity and that she was required to document her vote. Likud denies this. The High Court has already invalidated the vote for the Comptroller and ordered a new vote due to a flaw in secrecy.
