The stop was based on focused intelligence that the vehicle's occupants were on their way to commit a criminal attack against a rival party. The officers located the vehicle on one of Ashkelon's streets and followed it. Inside the vehicle, in one passenger's bag, they found the airsoft gun, the face covering, and the gloves. After a further search, they found the machete, the commando knife, the Taser, and the mobile phones. The three suspects and the vehicle were taken for questioning, and later they will be brought to the Ashkelon Magistrate's Court for a hearing on extending their remand. Deputy Commander of the Ashkelon Police, Chief Superintendent Doron Sasson, said that the police are operating proactively and resolutely against crime generators, and that the activity will continue to thwart violent offenses and remove assault weapons from the public sphere.
