Liberman: If I do this, I'll lose two mandates, Bennett — four

Avigdor Liberman explained why he is not ready to support Gadi Eisenkot as a candidate for prime minister from the bloc opposing Netanyahu. According to him, such a statement would lead to a loss of two mandates for his party and four for Bennett's party. Liberman called on parties to first mobilize their electorate.

Avigdor Liberman, chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, explained in an interview with Radio 103FM why at this stage he is not ready to announce support for Gadi Eisenkot as a single candidate for prime minister from the bloc opposing Netanyahu. Liberman stated that such a decision would weaken the bloc: his party would lose two mandates, and Naftali Bennett's party would lose four. He emphasized that at the current stage, each party must maximize mobilization of its electorate, and the issue of a single candidate should be discussed later. Liberman also unexpectedly spoke positively about reserve Brigadier General Ofer Winter, calling him an honest man and a brave warrior, despite ideological differences.
