The Jerusalem Tolerance Museum awarded US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee the "Abraham's Torch" award. The award was given in recognition of his longstanding support for Israel, strengthening ties between the countries, and his role during the recent confrontation with Iran. Meizel, a museum representative, said that Huckabee has shown exceptional love for Israel and the Jewish people, consistently recognized the historical connection of the Jewish people to the land, and stood firmly by Israel's side. Meizel also referred to Huckabee's activities during the confrontation with Iran and the cooperation between Washington and Jerusalem, describing him as "a strong and uncompromising voice for Israel and for the alliance between the United States and Israel." The "Abraham's Torch" award is given by the Tolerance Museum to individuals who promote tolerance, mutual responsibility, human dignity, and dialogue between communities and countries. This is the second consecutive year that the US Embassy in Jerusalem has held its Independence Day event in partnership with the Tolerance Museum. This year, the event was held under the title "Freedom 250," as part of the commemoration of 250 years of US independence.
