Leap Forward in Defense Against Iran: Successful Launch Test of 'Arrow' System in Central Israel

The Defense Ministry, together with the US Missile Defense Agency (MDA), the IDF, and Israel Aerospace Industries, conducted a successful launch test of the 'Arrow' air defense system from a test site near Palmachim Airbase. The system serves as the top layer of Israel's multi-layered defense array. Defense Minister Israel Katz said the test is further proof of the defense establishment's strength, noting the system successfully intercepted threats from Iran during the war.

The Defense Ministry announced today (Wednesday) that the 'Homa' Directorate in the DDR&D, together with the US Missile Defense Agency (MDA), the IDF, and Israel Aerospace Industries, successfully conducted a pre-planned test of the 'Arrow' air defense system. The launch was carried out from a test site near Palmachim Airbase, as part of the multi-year test program for developing and upgrading the system. The system serves as the top layer of Israel's multi-layered defense array, which also includes 'David's Sling', 'Iron Dome', and 'Ohr Yatan'. Defense Minister Israel Katz said the test is 'further proof of the strength of the defense establishment', and that the system proved itself in the war by successfully intercepting many threats from Iran and other arenas. He added that Israel continues to upgrade its capabilities and prepares for current and future threats. Director General of the Defense Ministry, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Baram, said the test reflects the key principles of the ministry's strategy – preserving technological superiority and strengthening munitions independence. He noted that even against the backdrop of the success of the campaign in Iran, the ministry continues to operate in emergency mode to accelerate production rates and upgrade the system's capabilities.
