LAW Rocket, Pistols and Fragmentation Grenades Suspected Stolen from IDF Found in Ramle Shelter

Detectives from the Central District's Central Unit and canine unit officers located this morning in a shelter of a residential building in Ramle a LAW rocket, four pistols and four fragmentation grenades, suspected to be stolen from the IDF. During the operation, a Lod resident in his 20s was arrested and taken for questioning. Tomorrow, the police will request an extension of his remand at the Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court. The weapons were transferred to forensic laboratories.

This morning (Monday), detectives from the Central District's Central Unit, together with canine unit officers, located in a shelter of a residential building in Ramle a LAW rocket, four pistols and four fragmentation grenades, which are suspected to have been stolen from the IDF. The seizure was carried out as part of proactive police activity against weapons offenses. During the operation, a Lod resident in his 20s, suspected of possessing the weapons, was arrested. He was taken for questioning, and tomorrow the police will request an extension of his remand at the Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court. The seized weapons were transferred to the police's forensic laboratories for further examination. Investigators are trying to trace the path they allegedly took since being stolen from the IDF until being hidden in the shelter, and to determine who they were intended for and whether additional individuals are involved in the affair. Central District Commander, Commissioner Amir Cohen, said: "This is a significant operational achievement in which dangerous weapons that could have been used by criminal elements to commit serious offenses were removed from the streets. We will continue to act resolutely until justice is served with all those involved to ensure public safety and security."
