Lapid urges Netanyahu to renew probe into Haymanot Kasau disappearance

Opposition leader Yair Lapid urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to renew the investigation into the disappearance of nine-year-old Haymanot Kasau, missing since February 2024. Lapid called for full state resources, while Kasau's father welcomed the appeal and urged non-political handling.

Opposition leader Yair Lapid has called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to renew the investigation into the disappearance of nine-year-old Haymanot Kasau, who has been missing since February 2024. In a letter to Netanyahu, Lapid urged that all state authorities act decisively and deploy full resources to locate her. Kasau vanished near an absorption center in Safed, and her family has repeatedly said not enough has been done. Netanyahu stated in January he would personally involve himself, but no update has been given since. Kasau's father, Tesfaye, welcomed Lapid's letter, appealing for the case to be handled without political considerations. The family has also requested Shin Bet involvement, saying the police investigation has stalled.
