Lapid tries to convince US to drop sanctions against Israel

Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid, during a visit to Washington, met with Democratic senators who previously voted to limit arms supplies to Israel. The goal of the talks was to convince the lawmakers that their decision was mistaken and to present facts about the situation on the ground. The meeting was organized by Senator Jacky Rosen of Nevada. Also participating were Senators Tim Kaine, Michael Bennet, Richard Blumenthal, Maggie Hassan, Cory Booker, Brian Schatz, Alex Padilla, John Hickenlooper, and Catherine Cortez Masto. Lapid urged the senators not to turn away from Israel and to maintain solidarity. He emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with the Democratic Party. A meeting also took place with Senator Elizabeth Warren. Lapid stated that boycotting dissenters is not a solution and that it is necessary to work hard to restore relations with both parties.
