The IDF responded to the return of four kites that crossed from the Gaza Strip to the Gaza envelope over the weekend, clarifying that they were sent by Gaza children without explosives. The IDF emphasized that the security reality has changed since October 7, but forces are monitoring the events. The kites were located in the areas of Nahal Oz, Be'eri, and Re'im, and some had strings up to 4 km long.
The IDF responded today to the return of four kites that crossed from the Gaza Strip to the Gaza envelope communities over the weekend. The IDF clarified that the kites are not dangerous, as they were sent by Gaza children and no explosives were found on them. However, the IDF emphasized: "We are not in the same security reality that existed before October 7. These are children sending the kites and there are no explosives on them. We are monitoring them." The first incident was discovered on Friday in the skies of Kibbutz Nahal Oz. During a scan yesterday, two additional kites were found in the avocado orchards of the kibbutz, and an IDF force located a fourth kite in the area between Be'eri and Re'im. In some cases, strings stretching about 4 kilometers were found, and the high alert led to warning messages being sent to residents not to approach suspicious objects. The IDF spokesperson confirmed that the kites crossed the border, but no suspicious findings were identified on them.
