Katz threatens to expand the Jenin model

Israeli Security Minister Israel Katz threatened to expand the military model in the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams camps to other areas in the West Bank, claiming a 80% decline in Palestinian operations without providing evidence. This comes amid an ongoing aggression since January 2025 that has left dozens of martyrs, hundreds wounded, destruction, and displacement.

Israeli occupation government Security Minister Israel Katz threatened on Sunday to expand the military model imposed by the occupation army in the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams camps to other Palestinian areas in the West Bank, as the aggression on the northern West Bank continues and calls within the Israeli government escalate for new displacement and incursion operations. During the weekly session of the occupation government, Katz claimed that the military policy implemented by the army in the West Bank led to an over 80% decline in Palestinian operations, without providing any data or evidence to support these claims. He boasted about the continued presence of occupation forces inside the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams camps for over a year and a half, claiming that residents forced to leave their homes were "evacuated for their protection," despite the widespread destruction, forced displacement, and prevention of thousands of Palestinians from returning to their homes caused by the military operations. The occupation army has been waging a wide-scale aggression on the northern West Bank since January 21, 2025, starting in the Jenin camp before extending to the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, resulting in the martyrdom of dozens of Palestinians, injuries to hundreds, along with the destruction of hundreds of homes, facilities, and infrastructure, and the displacement of tens of thousands of residents. In the same context, extremist Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called for the evacuation of Palestinians from the villages of Tel, Iraq Burin, and Beit Furik east of Nablus, in preparation for a wide military operation there. The statements reflect an escalating trend towards expanding the policy of displacement and destruction in the West Bank.
