Katz orders army to occupy another camp in the West Bank

This came in a statement issued by the occupation ministry on Tuesday, stating that Katz held a security meeting on Monday evening with the participation of Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, head of the Operations Division, head of Military Intelligence, commander of the Central Command, the military secretary of the security minister, and representatives of the Shin Bet and the security establishment. Katz ordered the expansion of offensive operations against what he called "Palestinian terrorism" and preparation to occupy another camp without naming it. He claimed that the measures resulted in an 80% decrease in operations in 2025 and 2026. In another context, Katz rejected the army and Shin Bet's position and issued instructions to cancel an administrative restraining order against a settler involved in violent crimes and sexual assault against Palestinians in Khirbet Humsa. Katz threatened on Sunday to expand operations in the West Bank, claiming that his government's policy achieved a decrease of more than 80% in Palestinian operations. The West Bank is witnessing extensive Israeli incursions and arrests, with the number of detainees exceeding 24,600 since October 2023, according to the Prisoners' Club.
