Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a security situation assessment today (Monday) at the Central Command, which dealt with security challenges in Judea and Samaria. The discussion at the political-security cabinet this evening will also address this issue, alongside the situation in Syria. Defense Minister Israel Katz said that a comprehensive picture was presented, including the threat map, the fight against terrorism, and the dramatic growth in settlements. According to him, the astounding figure is the drop in the scope of Palestinian terrorist attacks in Judea and Samaria for the second consecutive year, to levels never known before. Meanwhile, the Paratroopers Brigade completed its mission in the Gaza Strip and is moving to operations in Judea and Samaria. Over the past three months, the brigade operated under the Gaza Division and Division 99 in a mission of defense and clearing the Yellow Line area. The forces destroyed and sealed underground routes spanning 13 kilometers, including part of the route where Lieutenant Hadar Goldin was held. The forces also located many Hamas weapons, including RPG rockets, mortar shells, grenades, and launchers. Civil Administration forces extracted three Jews who entered Palestinian cities within hours, emphasizing that entry into Area A is life-threatening and prohibited by law.
