Kan News Poll: Eisenkot Overtakes Netanyahu, Smotrich Gains Strength
A Kan News poll by the Kantar Institute, published today, shows that Eisenkot's Yashar party becomes the largest with 24 seats, while Likud remains stable with 23. Smotrich and Religious Zionism gain one seat. The bloc picture is unchanged: coalition 52 vs. 57. Most respondents (62%) oppose Smotrich's slot.
A Kan News poll, conducted by the Kantar Institute and published today (Wednesday), indicates that if elections for the Knesset were held today, Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party would become the largest party with 24 seats, an increase of one seat from the previous poll. Likud, with 23 seats, remains stable and unaffected by the primaries. Naftali Bennett's Together party remains at 14 seats, and Yair Golan's Democrats at ten. Otzma Yehudit and Yisrael Beiteinu each drop one seat to nine. Bezalel Smotrich's Religious Zionism gains one seat to five. The bloc picture remains unchanged: the coalition wins 52 seats versus 57 for the opposing bloc. The poll also examined public attitudes regarding the Likud primaries: 44% see no difference between the lists, and 62% oppose Smotrich's slot. The poll was conducted on 18.8.2026 among 558 respondents.
