Just before the elections: a new and surprising candidate approaches the arena

Brig. Gen. (res.) Amir Avivi, former deputy commander of the Gaza Division and chairman of the "Habithonistim" movement, hinted in an interview with 103FM about his intention to join the upcoming election campaign. Avivi said he did not pass the leadership in the movement to do nothing, and he wants to be part of the leadership, but not at the cost of bringing everything down. He noted that he is not in the stage of dividing roles, and sees entering the Knesset as a significant event.

Amir Avivi, former deputy commander of the Gaza Division and chairman of the "Habithonistim" movement, hinted in an interview with 103FM about his intention to join the upcoming election campaign. Avivi said: "I did not pass the baton in the 'Habithonistim' movement to new leadership to do nothing, and I would very much like to be part of the leadership. Unlike others, this is not an obsessive event and in any situation to run no matter what, even at the cost of bringing everything down." He noted that he is not in the stage of dividing roles, and sees entering the Knesset as an important and significant event. Avivi also addressed Israel's strategic situation, saying it is in a better place than before October 7, and identified great opportunities. According to him, if Israel does the right things, it can defeat the Shiite axis and move toward normalization and economic agreements that will lead to a golden age. He also addressed anti-Semitism, saying it is a bad thing but also generates aliyah, similar to the Holocaust which accelerated the establishment of the state. According to him, October 7 caused a Zionist awakening among Jews worldwide.
