Two separate antisemitic assaults have occurred in the UK over recent weeks. In Manchester, on July 20, a BB gun was fired from a passing vehicle at a group of Jewish community members, causing three minor injuries. Greater Manchester Police arrested two suspects on suspicion of religiously aggravated common assault. The Campaign Against Antisemitism thanked police but argued that extra policing is not the solution, calling for tackling extremism at its source. Separately, in London's Markfield Park on July 4, a father and his three-year-old son were assaulted in an unprovoked antisemitic attack. The suspect made threatening remarks and fled on a red-orange e-bike. The Metropolitan Police is appealing for public help to identify the attacker. Detective Constable Benny Palmer said the attack was shocking and would cause concern, adding that police are conducting intelligence-led patrols to protect Jewish communities.
