Jerrycans, fuel and a truck worth 700,000 shekels: Footage of the arson in Beit She'an

An indictment was filed this morning (Thursday) against a 33-year-old resident of the village of Nin, near Afula, suspected of setting a truck on fire in a parking lot in the industrial zone of Beit She'an. The incident occurred last month during the night, when a report was received about a truck that had caught fire. Firefighting forces extinguished the blaze, which caused extensive damage to the truck valued at approximately 700,000 shekels. During the investigation, dozens of security camera footage were collected, in which a suspicious vehicle was identified arriving at the area shortly before the fire. Footage from a gas station in the north showed the suspect filling jerrycans with fuel with his face exposed. When the investigation became overt, the suspect was arrested, and his detention was extended from time to time. The Northern District Prosecutor's Office is expected to file an indictment against him and a request for detention until the end of proceedings.
