Jericho man preaching 'destruction to Zionists', support for Hamas arrested in nightime raid

Israel Police, in coordination with the IDF, arrested a 39-year-old suspect in Jericho overnight on Wednesday for allegedly publishing incitement and expressing support for Hamas on social media. The operation involved the Judea and Samaria District's Observation and Intelligence Unit, the Border Police, and the IDF's 417th Brigade. The suspect is alleged to have run several social media accounts posting incitement against Israel and the IDF, alongside praise for Hamas. In one post, he reportedly wrote: "God chose the name Hamas for us, and we did not know that its meaning in Hebrew is 'destruction and ruin,' and that it would be destruction and ruin for the Zionist occupiers." In another, he posted: "Set ambushes and strike your enemies," with images praising Hamas members. The suspect, caught hiding in bushes near his home, was transferred for interrogation at the Ma'aleh Adumim police station. According to police, he is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood in the northern Gaza Strip and linked to Hamas operatives.
