Jared Kushner plans to visit Israel, Egypt next week for Gaza talks - report

Jared Kushner, US President Donald Trump's son-in-law and Special Envoy for Peace, plans to visit Israel and Egypt next week for talks on Gaza, according to five sources cited by Axios on Thursday. He will meet Nickolay Mladenov, the 'high representative' for the Gaza Board of Peace, as well as Netanyahu and other senior Israeli officials. He is also expected to meet mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey in Cairo. This would be his first visit since January. Separately, CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper visited Israel on Monday; a spokesperson denied reports that Cooper pushed for renewed strikes against Iran.

In a separate development, CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper visited Israel on Monday and spoke to senior IDF commanders about US-Israeli military relations and the war with Iran. A CENTCOM spokesperson, Cpt. Tim Hawkins, told The Jerusalem Post that reports that Cooper had pushed for renewed strikes against Iran were 'an outright fabrication. It's not true at all.'
