It's Official: Segalovich Resigns from Knesset, Ahead of Possible Joining Ra'am

His place in Yesh Atid is expected to be filled by Michal Kobaba-Salvani, who will serve as a Knesset member until after the October elections. Ra'am is currently assessing the mood in the Arab public and the possible reaction to adding a first-ever Jewish candidate. The party stresses that at this stage there is no agreement regarding Segalovich's addition, and a decision will be made only through an internal process in Ra'am. Chairman Mansour Abbas told ynet that a decision on reserved slots on the list will be made only after the primaries, expected to take place on August 22. Abbas denied reports about a possible change of Ra'am's name, allegedly due to adding a Jewish candidate and appealing to a broader audience beyond Arab society. According to him, the name will remain Ra'am in Hebrew (United Arab List), and in Arabic - the United List. Segalovich, who has served as a Knesset member for Yesh Atid since 2019, informed Chairman Yair Lapid last week of his departure from the party. "I announced my resignation from the Knesset," he said. "I wish great success to Yesh Atid and the Together party, that they continue to act with determination for the citizens of the State of Israel."
