'It's a matter of time': Eisenkot warns of serious threat

He stated that the prime minister's decision to divide sovereign powers in Judea and Samaria between ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir 'brought the region to the brink of anarchy' and weakened the fight against terrorism. In his assessment, 'a broad outbreak in Judea and Samaria is a matter of time,' and it will require diverting 'key decisive forces' of the IDF from other fronts, including the Gaza Strip and the northern border with Hezbollah. Eisenkot emphasized that the government leaves IDF commanders in the field without support and slanders them for coalition considerations. He rejected claims of support for a Palestinian state, stating that his concept is a Jewish and democratic state with IDF security control between the river and the sea. He called the plan to dismantle the Palestinian Authority and directly govern 2.8 million Palestinians a 'stupid and crazy idea.' Meanwhile, the party launched an overseas election campaign, including billboards in Cyprus, which sparked resonance and criticism from a Cypriot MEP.
