Three 18-year-old young men from Netanya—Elia, Thomas, and Daniel—were injured in a car accident on July 3, 2026, at the intersection of Herzl and Yaffo streets in Tel Aviv, when their car was hit by the vehicle of singer Sasson Shaulov, who according to their testimony ran a red light. In their first interview with Walla, they recount the moments of impact: their car stopped at a red light, and when it turned green and they began to move, Shaulov's car struck them forcefully from the right side. The car spun, filled with smoke, and the young men were rescued with the help of passersby. All were taken for medical treatment; Thomas was hospitalized in the trauma unit at Ichilov. According to them, Shaulov approached them at the scene, apologized, said he had run a red light, promised to pay for the damages, and asked them not to involve insurance, but has not contacted them since. They claim he was not given a breathalyzer test, despite the late hour and weekend. Police stated that the officer at the scene acted professionally and that no suspicion of alcohol use arose. Shaulov's license was suspended and he is expected to stand trial. The victims, represented by lawyers Ben Maoz and Eden Amos, demand a thorough investigation without bias. In response from Shaulov, it was stated that he contacted those involved and is working to close the matter amicably. The victims deny any personal contact and say they were offered a sum of money not through insurance, an offer they rejected.
