Israir plans to launch flights to Japan, Thailand, and Hong Kong

Israir has received a license to operate Airbus A330 aircraft and plans to launch flights to Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, and the United States. The company purchased two aircraft for $85 million and hired 15 new pilots, including three women.

Israir Airlines has received a license from the Israel Civil Aviation Authority to operate wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft, a significant step toward establishing a network of long-haul international routes. The company intends to apply for permits to fly to Japan, Thailand, and Hong Kong, and is also coordinating documents for flights to the United States. The license, known as Operations Specifications, allows Israir to operate A330s with its own crews and perform maintenance. Previously, on July 20, Israir hired 15 new pilots for the Tel Aviv–New York route, including three women. In total, the company has seven female pilots (about 10%), higher than the global average of 6%. So far, two A330 aircraft have been purchased for $85 million. The cabin is divided into three classes: business, premium, and economy. The A330 carries 295 passengers and has been in service since 1994.
