Hen Katzevich-Persler, an Israeli sociologist, initiated a civic project called 'Kibbutz Galuyot' ('Ingathering of the Exiles'), which connects Israelis living abroad who plan to fly in for the Knesset elections on October 27 with homeowners willing to provide them with free lodging. The idea arose spontaneously after a Facebook post that gathered thousands of responses. The project merged with an existing initiative called 'One Home - We Vote in the Country'. Katzevich-Persler emphasizes that the project is not connected to political forces and is not interested in participants' views. Knesset member Amit Halevi filed a complaint with the Central Elections Committee, claiming it is an organized campaign by left-wing forces. Likud demanded a ban on housing arrivals, calling it 'voter bribery'. The committee responded that if a criminal offense is suspected, one should turn to the competent authorities.
